Survey Study on Public Perception and Knowledge Levels Regarding Domestic Violence in Malaysia

A study was conducted to explore public perceptions and identify the level of knowledge regarding domestic violence in the country. Differences in perceptions and knowledge between married and unmarried individuals about domestic violence were also analysed to propose social initiatives aimed at reducing domestic violence rates. This study employed a quantitative approach through surveys, distributing questionnaires to individuals aged 18 and above across Malaysia, including Sabah and Sarawak.

Study on the Effectiveness and Empowerment of Independent Living Centre (ILC) Establishments

The Independent Living Centre (ILC) service programme for Persons with Disabilities (PWD) is a programme offering basic services to empower the PWD community in Malaysia. The programme focuses on aspects such as self-determination and independent living skills, enabling the PWD community to better prepare for daily life. Through this initiative, the PWD community is given full responsibility for themselves and is recognised as individuals within the society of this country.

Study on the Relationship Between Financial Conflict and Social Well-Being of Women in Domestic Violence Issues

The primary objective of this study was to understand the economic and financial aspects of domestic violence from the perspective of women involved in such cases. To explore these economic and financial issues, information was gathered from domestic violence victims and staff of the Department of Social Welfare through a quantitative approach using questionnaires in the form of Google Forms, as well as a qualitative approach based on interviews and focus group discussions (FGDs).

Study on Mental Health of Women Facing Workplace Discrimination

Twelve hypotheses were developed as the foundation of this study, which utilised field surveys in the form of questionnaires to achieve its objective of identifying the current types of workplace discrimination faced by women and understanding its role and implications on their mental health. The study population comprised 5.1 million working women in Malaysia, with a sample size of 411 used for reporting the analysis. A simple random sampling technique was employed for data collection.

Study on the Economic Well-Being and Alternative Methods for the Survivability of PWDs (Recipients of JKM Assistance) During the MCO Period in Klang Valley

This research was conducted to assess the economic well-being of PWDs (recipients of Department of Social Welfare assistance) during the Movement Control Order (MCO) period. The issues raised lead to exploring alternative methods for the survivability of PWDs. Five hypotheses were developed as the foundation for this study, which took the form of field surveys and included several rounds of interviews. The population consisted of 134,807 PWDs in Klang Valley, with a sample size of 384. A simple random sampling technique was employed for data collection.

Evaluation Study of Assistance Provided by the Department of Social Welfare (JKM)

The findings of this study have implications not only for empowering and improving welfare assistance programmes implemented by the government for target groups in the future but also for providing valuable input to KPWKM in planning suitable long-term strategic assistance plans. The results also impact the evaluation of the effectiveness of government programmes in delivering assistance to target groups. The latest study inputs can serve as a reference for assessing current assistance programmes to ensure the provision of relevant data and information about the assistance needed.

Study on the Implementation of the Pilot Diversion Project for Children in Conflict with the Law in Malaysia

The Pilot Diversion Programme is an initiative proposed by the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development (KPWKM) and approved by the Attorney General’s Chambers (AGC). Efforts to establish this Pilot Programme began in 2013 through various meetings and workshops on Diversion, facilitated by international experts from countries such as England and Wales, Australia, New Zealand, and Hong Kong.

Diagnostic Study to Develop an Integrated and Sustainable Long-Term Care Model for the Elderly in Malaysia

Malaysia is heading towards becoming an ageing nation, with an estimated 5.8 million elderly individuals, accounting for 15.3% of the population aged 60 years and above, by 2030. This diagnostic study aligns with the government’s aspiration to provide formal and informal services and facilities to achieve overall societal well-being.
